Notice Inviting Tender

Sealed Quotation in duplicate duly signed and superscribed with the name of the works are invited from suitable parties for total construction (civil & electrical ) of a Complete Radiation Processing Unit as Pilot plant scale (Commercial utilization) & overall dimension of unit having (146m length x 86m width) = 12556 sqm. at Chinsurah, Dis. Hoogly, (W.B.) under the R&D Project for Food Irradiation Unit of Prof Pratap Chakraborty, Chief Co-ordinator, Dept. of Food technology & Biochemical Engineering, Jadavpur University.

A.                  Plant : A 100KCi Co-60 plant for Gamma-ray panoramic type irradiator preferably with overhanging carriers to facilitate irradiation of fruits and vegetables upto 10 kGy with a minimum throughput of 10kg/hr at 10kGy and 2tons/hr at 50Gy on turnkey basis is required.(As per details in the tender document).

B.                  Civil Works : (i) Walling up of 8ft height with 2ft barbed wire fencing of the Irradiation field of dimension 146m length x 86m width.

(ii) Widening, Strengthening & Repairing of metal road of length 900m & width 3m from the gate to the Irradiation Unit.

(iii) Radiation cell & relevant accessories with 50m x 45m =2250 sqm.

(iv) Godown for processed & unprocessed materials approximately of 40m x 20m = 800 sqm each.

(v) A deep tubewell (boring) to supply adequate water for various utilities.

(vi) Three laboratories each with dimension 8000 x 7000

(vii) A conference room with dimension 3000 x 10300

(viii) A room having dimension 3000 x 3600 for accommodating two Gamma Chambers.

(ix) A control room with dimension 5000 x 5000.

(x) Two sitting rooms having dimension 5000 x 5000 each.

(xi) One maintenance room.

(xii) One room for electrical device & generator.

(xiii) Three toilets & bathroom with all amenities (As per details in the tender documents), (1 for women)

      C.  Electrical Works: Total internal electric system for Processing Plant 40 KVA                           

& utilities 60 KVA in different laboratories, sitting rooms, conference rooms, control room toilets etc for this Food Irradiation Unit.

       D. Time Schedule: The plant should be completed within 6 to 8 months from the

 date of order placed.

Quotation should cover all expenses including travel of personnel (University, Govt & any other) wherever necessary till installation. Tender documents that give the details of the work will be available as stated below on payment of Rs 500/- (Rupees five hundred) only for each set, by A/C payee, Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque on any nationalized Bank payable at Kolkata & drawn in favor of “Jadavpur University”. Tender document is available from the Central Projects Section at Aurobindo Bhavan, 2^nd Floor from on all working days between 11am to 4.30 pm. There is no provision to send the tender papers through post.

For further information if required, a bidder may please attend the Pre-Bid Conference on    

15^th September at 2.00 pm at Central Projects Section.
